For fresh produce and other food and beverage products sold in Europe, ‘e weighing’ is the standard, which means packing to an average weight. For example, in the case of packing table grapes into 500g punnets, 490g would be acceptable as long as there were other punnets of 510g in the batch to balance out the average pack weight.
AWM utilises MARCO’s high precision, touch screen DataMaster weighing scales. This user-friendly workstation is operated away from the packing line. A single workstation can police multiple packing lines with clear screen prompts when samples are required for testing. It also warns when any pack weight deviations go outside the pre-set tolerances. A unique email alert function adds another level of reliability, enabling operators to take corrective action swiftly and efficiently, in line with the latest WELMEC (European weights and measures) guidelines.
